Shon started her broadcast journalism career at KWCH-DT in Wichita, KS. While in this station, she reported and anchored the station’s public affairs program before shifting to KWTV-DT in Oklahoma City, OK, where she initially served as an associate producer, education reporter and was finally promoted to news anchor, whereby she covered US military issues which affected Tinker Air Force Base.
She later relocated to Detroit, MI, where she joined WDIV-TV as a morning news anchor/general assignment reporter. She fulfilled her duty by covering breaking stories with all three US Automakers and served as spokesperson for the American Cancer Society in Southwest Michigan Division. This enabled her to produce a two-hour special on breast cancer awareness for WDIV.
