On the anniversary of 9/11 in 2002, Pelley was granted the one and only interview with President Bush. Pelley started submitting reports for 60 Minutes in 2003. Prior to the pope’s visit to the US in September 2015, Pelley met him in the Vatican. He later led CBS News’ coverage of the trip.
