Harvey joined KCAL 9 in Los Angeles in 1989, and in 2010 began co-anchoring for KCAL sister station KCBS news. She is the longest-running anchor in prime time at one station in Los Angeles.

Harvey started her career at WNEM-TV in Saginaw, Michigan, where she worked as a general assignment reporter before becoming a producer and anchor of the station’s newscasts at 6 and 11 p.m. Harvey assisted in the establishment of CNN Headline News in 1981, and a year later she was appointed co-anchor of CNN Daybreak program.
Pat worked as an anchor and reporter for Chicago’s superstation WGN-TV before joining KCAL. There, her series of investigative investigations on faulty pap smears resulted in new health legislation in Illinois and the closure of a lab in Tarzana, California, which was the source of many of those erroneous smears.
For her broadcast work, Pat has won 22 Emmy Awards, including three for Best Newscast. The most recent awards were presented for a half-hour perspective on the 20th anniversary of the LA riots and Best Feature reporter in 2018. She has dedicated her career to community service, advocating for children, education, those in the special-needs community and victims of domestic violence.
