While still at this position, she covered the trial of Pennsylvania’s former Attorney General Kathleen Kane in Philadelphia. In 2015, she moved to Baltimore where she reported on the Freddie Gray riots. However, the highly impactful story she covered in Pennsylvania was about her father’s struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. This story enabled her to receive several awards, such as an Edward R. Murrow Award, an Emmy, and a national award from the Society of Professional Journalists.
