Barnett started his journalism career in 2001 with Channel One News, as the Los Angeles-based network’s youngest anchor and reporter at the age of 18. However, during this time; he covered the New England heroin epidemic, the first national speech by then-Senator Barack Obama, and the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
