Before being promoted to be a Senior White House Correspondent, Chris anchored the 10 am hour on MSNBC weekdays on Jansing and Company with Richard Lui regularly serving as a correspondent and substitute anchor. She started working immediately after she graduated from Otterbein as an intern in Columbus, Ohio before she was employed at WIPS radio station in New York.
She afterward relocated to Albany in New York at WNYT television where she served as a general assignment reporter before she was promoted to a weekend anchor and finally to a weekly co-anchor. While still at WNYT, Chris was awarded a New York Emmy Award for covering the Olympic Park bombing in Atlanta in the year 1997.
